Creative Learning of a Language
There are more ways to learn and practice a language than just merely sitting in a classroom and listening to the teacher.
One very effective way to learn and practice a language is through watching television and news programs in the language you want to learn.
I remember that when I was learning the Spanish Language, I
would always watch the Telenovelas and the Spanish News (Noticias) and listen to both what was being said, as
well as how it was being said, i.e. the intonation used by the speaker. Many
times, I would tape the conversations and then practice these by playing them
back, stopping the tape, and repeating what I heard. This helped me to develop
in my language acquisition skills and allowed me to become a more proficient
speaker of Spanish.
It is important to remember that no matter what language you want to learn, you must use and practice it on a regular or daily basis in order to improve your speaking.
Most of all, Make Learning a Language fun!!

Here is a suggestion to help parents assist their child in
learning English:
Parents need to read, read, read and read to their child everyday in
English. If the child is just learning English, parents can start off using
picture books and asking the child to tell them about the pictures. This
will help the child start to develop their own vocabulary.
If the child is at the basic level, then parents need to get beginning
English books that have pictures and simple sentences, and have the child
read the sentence to the parent after the parent has read it to the child.
Another way that Parents can help their child to read is to take them to a
local library and get the child a library card so the child can take out
books and practice reading them at home with their parents
